The city of Montreal unveiled plans for the redevelopment of Phillips Square, Place du Frere Andre and surrounding streets.

The 50 million dollar makeover is scheduled to begin early next year and will focus on creating a Pedestrian orientated “oasis” in the heart of downtown.

The square bounded by St. Catharine Street West and Cathcart Street will gain significant greening as well as enhancement of heritage and historic characteristics.

The redevelopment is slated to finish in 2021.
