Canada, Portugal, Sweden Ranked Top LGBTQ+-Friendly Travel Destinations
According to a new list published by gay holiday guide Spartacus, Canada is ranked among the most LGBTQ+-friendly travel destinations in the world.
Canada, home of one of North America’s largest Pride celebrations, was ranked first along with Portugal and Sweden in the SPARTACUS Gay Travel Index 2019.
The rankings are based on criteria in three categories, civil rights, discrimination, and threats, including persecution.
The travel index is updated annually to inform travelers about the situation of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people in 197 countries and regions.
