According to the Montreal Gazette, Gestev, a sports and entertainment management company, is mounting a plan to resurrect the mountain’s long-closed ski hill to host a future World Cup parallel slalom race.  The old ski hill on Mount Royal’s north slope closed in 1979.

If the Quebec promoter gets its way the mountain would host three or four years of international races beginning in 2020 or 2021, and could be open to the public afterward and in between. Gestev, should decide by March 2019 if it plans to move forward with the proposal.

The three-headed mountain that sits at the heart of Montreal was declared a historic site by the Quebec government in 2005.

What are your comments on the proposal?
