Trudeau Extends Canada Emergency Response Benefit Eligibility Period by 8 Weeks

If you’ve been getting the CERB and still can’t work because you’re unable to find a job or it’s just not possible, you will keep getting $2,000 a month.

Trudeau announced Tuesday that the federal government is extending the Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB) eligibility period by eight weeks as the COVID-19 pandemic continues.

“If you’ve been getting the CERB and you still can’t work because you’re unable to find a job or it’s just not possible, you will keep getting that $2,000 a month over the next few weeks,” he said.
