Woody Harrelson back in Montreal shooting Second World War movie Midway

A section of Old Montreal has been transformed into New York 1942, for the filming of Roland Emmerich’s new movie, Midway.

The movie recounts the crucial Battle of Midway, a decisive naval battle in the first week of June 1942 in which the US Navy fought the Japanese Navy six months after Japan’s attack on Pearl Harbor.

The Montreal leg of the shoot is reportedly a replacement for a previous planned shooting schedule that involved California as a location.

Midway will also shoot at MELS Studios in Montreal, where Emmerich previously filmed The Day After Tomorrow and White House Down.

Midway will feature, Woody Harrelson, Mandy Moore, Nick Jonas, Luke Evans and Dennis Quaid.
