Sunday, May 26, kicks off the 4th edition of the Manulife, “Free BIXI Sundays.” Every last Sunday from May to October, you can ride a BIXI free of charge.

You can take a free BIXI out for as many rides as you want, for up to 30 minutes each.

Information valets will be posted at forty popular BIXI stations to offer assistance to anyone not yet familiar with the bike sharing service.

Six Different Themes

For inspiration a new theme will be featured every month.

  • May 26: Montreal Museums Day (free annual day in all museums)
  • June 30: Urban Art (Montreal is a real outdoor museum)
  • July 28: Yoga in the parks (an activity that is experiencing more and more success)
  • August 25: Picnics in the parks (a great weekend classic)
  • September 29: Coffee tour (so many new cafes to discover)
  • October 27: Movie Nights (free cinema for Bixistes)

Supports the Quebec Heart & Stroke Foundation.

For every ride, one dollar is donated to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Quebec.

HOW IT WORKS

  1. To rent a bicycle, download the BIXI app or head to a pay station at one of the 600 BIXI stations anytime between 12:00 a.m. and 11:59 p.m.
  2. Create your profile in the app or insert your credit card into the pay station, then select “One Way $0” and follow the instructions. *A $20 deposit will be held per bike.
  3. Enter the code you get after completing the transaction on the keyboard located to the left of the bike dock for the BIXI you’ve chosen.
  4. Head out to explore Montreal for 30 minutes max. Fees will apply if you spend more than the allocated time.
