Montreal Museums Day Returns Today Sunday, May 26th.

The event hosted by the Montreal Museums Society will feature 31 of the city’s nearly 50 museums opening their doors and waiving all admission fees on this one day.

Free shuttle buses routes are set up between the museums and run all day long leaving from Place-des-Arts Metro’s, (Jeanne-Mance and de Maisonneuve).

Today is also Bixi Free Sundays and you can ride a Bixi in 30 minute intervals all day for free.

The day-long event, a custom in Montreal since the ’80s, marks the celebration of International Museums Day (May 18) a 1977 UNESCO-International Council of Museums initiative.

Your mantra for today is – less is more. You won’t be able to visit all 31 museums so contemplate on which museums are the priority.
